MY RESPOND IS THAT MELINDA WAS DRAWING AN ART PICTURE. SHE DID NOT THINK THAT HER DRAWING WAS GOOD AND MR. FREEMAN WAS NOT HELPING HER SO SHE SCARE THAT HER DRAWING WAS NOT MAKINS SENSE.

MY LAST WORDS : I think she's using a metaphor as in, her situation of avoiding Andy Evans, comparing it to rabbits situations of hiding from their predators.
